Raised a "Cradle Catholic", Mike Maturen left the Catholic Church while in college after having a "born-again" experience. After nearly 16 years as an evangelical Christian and part-time preacher, Mike began to feel a calling back to a more sacramental theology.
Desiring to fulfill a call to the Priesthood that he received when he was 16 years old, Mike turned to the Anglican tradition. Mike received his Master of Divinity and was ordained a Priest in the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches.
After a failed attempt at establishing a home church, Mike was led to meet with the local Catholic Bishop. They became friends, and met on occasion to discuss life. Eventually, Mike gave up his Priesthood in obedience to Christ, and was received back into full communion with the Catholic Church. His wife and three children followed him in obedience nine months later.
Mike's ministry now involves sharing his amazing return to Catholicism, and leading parishes into a deeper fellowship and discipleship.
Mike is also a Novice in the Holy Family Institute, a Vatican-recognized Institute of Consecrated Life, and a member of the Pauline Family.
